Six people were injured after an SUV hit an MTA bus on Dickerson Pike in Nashville.

The crash happened Tuesday around 5:15 a.m. at the corner of Hillhurst Drive.

Officials said a Cadillac Escalade rear-ended the bus. The SUV sustained significant front-end damage.

Four passengers on the bus were transported to the hospital, along with the bus driver who was taken as a matter of precaution.

The driver of the SUV was also hurt, but the nature of their injuries was not available.

The bus did not appear to have significant damage.

Two southbound lanes were closed while crews worked at the scene, with traffic diverted through the center lane.

A second bus was brought in to take the passengers from damaged bus.

Crews from the Nashville Fire Department spread absorbent material after some of the fuel spilled.

A tow truck was brought in to remove the damaged bus.

It was not clear if the SUV driver was cited or faced any charges.
