NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The T.J. Martell Foundation held a race to raise money for cancer research, but it was a race of a different kind. Participants weren't running; they were lying in bed.
Teams participating in the T.J. Martell Bed Race decorate beds to race. Team members raise money to earn a head start on race day.
Organizers say the unique competition is part of the draw of the event.
There are also awards for best decorated, best in spirit, and for the individual who raises the most money online.
The event raised more than $70,000 for cancer research last year.
