NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The new wings mural that Taylor Swift commissioned in The Gulch are coming down one week after the release of her new single.
The colorful and playful butterfly wingspopped up just in time for the NFL Draft. Swift commissioned Kelsey Montegue to create the painting and surprised fans at the mural last week.
The mural was apparently meant to be temporary and was painted on plywood.
“As a temporary installation, the mural was painted on plywood and not designed to last outdoors beyond a short duration of time. As such, it will be removed at the end of the weekend to be preserved. We encourage all interested to come by for a final photo by the end of the weekend – and beyond that to visit Kelsey’s [Montegue] permanent wings mural just across the street,” according to a statement from MarketStreet Enterprises Managing Director Jay Turner.
A record-setting number of people came to Nashville last week for the NFL Draft and the Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon.
