CAMDEN, Tenn. (WTVF) — Investigators say a Benton County man has been charged in connection with a murder-for-hire plot.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 40-year-old Caleb Bryant, of Camden, tried to hire someone to kill an individual in East Tennessee.

The TBI began investigating Bryant on Monday at the request of District Attorney General Matt Stowe.

On Thursday, Bryant was charged with one count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder. He was booked into the Benton County Jail and is being held without bond pending his first court appearance.
