TBI investigates shooting involving Deputy Marshals

PARSONS, Tenn. (WTVF) — While trying to arrest a man, shots were fired by Deputy Marshals, but no one was injured in the incident.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force were trying to take Anthony Phoenix into custody Monday when the shots rang out on the 100 block of Gilbert Street.

Officials did not release why Phoenix was being arrested.

No one was hit by the gunfire and Phoenix was taken into custody and booked into the Decatur County Jail.
