HARTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents have made an arrest in the murder of a young woman in Trousdale County.

The body of 21-year-old Bailey Donoho was found on the 2100 block of Browning Branch Road Sunday.

TBI developed information through their investigation that Benjamin Carter was in a vehicle with the victim and another man the night the crime took place.

The investigation showed that at some point Carter exited the vehicle and fired shots at the truck. This resulted in the death of Donoho.

The other passenger in the car was able to get out of the vehicle and run to the neighboring house for safety.

Carter then drove away from the scene.

On Wednesday, the Trousdale County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Carter with one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.

Carter is currently being held in the Trousdale County Jail on an unrelated charged.

He does not currently have a bond set.
