With more winter weather expected in Middle Tennessee on Wednesday night, TDOT crews have continued to prepare for potential winter storms.
“We’re gonna have crews, they’re going to be on standby." Kathryn Schulte, community relations officer for TDOT said on Wednesday. "The good thing is that we have so much salt on the roads, we don’t need to do a lot of pretreatment work, it’s just going to be waiting for the stuff to come in and going to wherever it is once it hits.”
During the week of storms, TDOT has spread thousands of tons of salt on Middle Tennessee roads with hopes the preparation can help prevent slippery conditions due to ice and snow.
Moving into tonight, TDOT crews will be on standby for any potential weather that moves into the area, but TDOT still advises drivers to use caution in the morning and to leave extra time to commute to work.
