Teen Charged Over School Threats Made Online

A 15-year-old John Overton High School student was arrested and charged with commission of the act of terrorism after making online threats.

According to Metro Nashville Police officials, the student had been known to make threats online.

Some students notified the School Resource Officer Wednesday about the threats. The SRO then took the information to the juvenile court.

The 15-year-old was not in school Wednesday or Thursday; so patrol officers went to his home and picked him up Thursday morning.

The teen was charged in juvenile court with commission of the act of terrorism over threats make on social media.

The student's name was not released.
