SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WTVF) — One juvenile has died after a shooting and subsequent crash in Springfield.
Springfield police said officers were called to the area of 16th Avenue and Shelton Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday after a vehicle crashed into the front of a home.
Police said prior to the crash, the vehicle and its three occupants were involved in a shooting on Page Street. Smokey Barn News reported that the teen crashed after being shot. All three were taken to area hospitals, but one of the juveniles has since died.
Investigators said they do not believe this to be a random act of violence, and it appears that the individuals involved knew each other.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Springfield Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 615-384-8422.
