Posted

Officials with the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office have asked for the public's help in their search for an escaped juvenile from Natchez Trace Youth Academy.

Because the escapee is a juvenile, officials were not able to release a photo. However, he was described as a 5’ 9” 169 pound boy with blonde hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing an orange shirt with tan pants with no shoes. He had stolen an employees car in his escape but later crashed it in the Cuba Landing area.

The Natchez Trace Youth Academy (NTYA) is described as a highly-structured residential treatment facility located in middle Tennessee. Our cognitive behavioral program serves adolescent males, 12-17 years old.

According to other agencies that have dealt with him he has violent tendencies and has stolen other cars. He also has a past history of arson.

Residents in the area should keep an eye out and also lock their vehicles and residences. Anyone with information was asked to call officials at 931-296-2301.
