NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 16-year-old died from what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Madison.
Metro Nashville Police officials responded to the shooting that injured 16-year-old Jairo Rodriguez Thursday evening.
It happened on the 200 block of East Palestine Avenue Thursday afternoon at Falcon View Apartments on East palestine Avenue.
Witnesses told police they heard a pop in the area. Officers say Rodriguez suffered a gunshot wound to his hip and they believe it was self-inflicted. A gun was found in his pants.
He was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in extremely critical condition where he later died.
