A teenager killed in an accidental shooting has been laid to rest.
Reports stated 14-year-old Elijah Austin, known as EJ, died Saturday, October 7 when he was handling a handgun that discharged and shot him in the head.
He was a Hopkinsville High School freshman and a football player.
Visitation was held Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hopkinsville Middle School gym.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hopkinsville High gym. Austin was buried in the Riverside Cemetery.
A gofundme account had brought in more than $8,000 for the family as of Sunday night.
