A vigil has been planned for a 17-year-old who was killed over the weekend in a crash in Rutherford County.

The collision happened shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday on Memorial Boulevard in Murfreesboro.

Murfreesboro Police said the driver of a 2006 Ford Mustang was traveling north when he left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a tree.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors.

Police did not immediately identify the teen.

However, his mother confirmed his identity as Will Divilbiss, a student at Siegel High School. A vigil has been set for 5 p.m. at the State Farm location on Memorial Boulevard.
