MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WTVF) — The sheriff in Wilson County said a 19-year-old died of a gunshot at a home early this last weekend.
Austin Gordan died just after his birthday, his mother Tonya Wilkerson told NewsChannel 5.
Wilkerson said Gordon was with four other teens — three girls and a boy at a home in Wilson County.
She said it was around 5:30 a.m. Saturday when her son was shot in the head with a 9 mm handgun.
He died instantly and she believes someone shot him, and that what happened was a homicide.
She wants to see justice done.
However, detectives said it is too early to reach any conclusions, and they have interviewed the teens who were there.
At this point, authorities have ruled out nothing.
Once the investigation is completed the findings will be sent to the district attorney.
The district attorney will then decide whether to seek a Grand Jury indictment for criminal charges.
