HERMITAGE, Tenn. – A teenager suffered burns after fire broke out at a residence in northeastern Davidson County.
The incident happened around 4 a.m. Monday, on Tyler Drive in Hermitage.
Officials on the scene said four people were inside the home at the time of the fire.
A 17-year-old was injured and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with second-degree burns to his hands, arms, feet and face. His family said he was responsible for getting everyone out of the house and called him a hero.
Another person was treated at the scene.
Crews said most of the fire damage was contained to the kitchen area of the house.
The cause of the blaze was not known.
