NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A teenager on probation faces felony evading arrest and gun charges after allegedly fleeing from police Friday night.

Metro officials say Jalem Buford, 18, drove off after an officer tried to pull him over for running a stop light at Brick Church Pike and Ewing Drive.

An MNPD helicopter tracked down Buford's at an apartment complex on Creekwood Drive. Buford and three passengers ran away, but officers caught up with them.

Police say they found one pistol along the path, plus another discarded by one of Buford's passengers.

Buford was already on a three year supervised probation for auto theft and auto burglary. He is now charged with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon, evading arrest, marijuana possession and driving without a license.

Two 17 year old passengers are charged with evading police. A 16 year old passenger is charged with unlawful gun possession, evading arrest and marijuana possession.
