Tennessee Highway Patrol asks public for help in solving hit-and-run on I-24, possible suspect vehicle identified

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee Highway Patrol is seeking public assistance in its investigation of a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian in on I-24 near mile marker 68.8.

The incident occurred between midnight and 9:30 on Saturday morning near Almaville Road. When police arrived at the scene, the located the body of a female victim laying in a ditch line.

According to THP, the pedestrian was struck by what investigators believe to be a 2001-2005 white Ford Ranger pickup truck. The suspect vehicle should have damage to the passenger side headlight and signal light area.

The hit-and-run caused the right lane to be closed to eastbound traffic on I-24 until approximately 1 p.m.
