NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee has parted ways with Lady Vols head coach Holly Warlick.
UT Director of Athletics Phil Fulmer made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.
Warlick, a Knoxville native and three-time All-American for the Lady Vols, was associate head coach under one of the greatest collegiate head coaches of all time, Pat Summit.
"While it certainly stings to make this decision, I am charged with doing what I believe is best for this storied program. It's important to all of us that Lady Vols basketball maintains its status among the elite," Fulmer said.
The Lady Vols made the NCAA Tournament all seven seasons Warlick was the head coach, reaching the Elite 8 in 2013 and 2015.
Tennessee lost in the first round in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, their earliest exit since 2009.
Warlick's career record as head coach was 172-67.
