(WTVF) — Tennessee Rep. Mike Carter (R -- Ooltewah) says he’s “feeling a little better” after being hospitalized for COVID-19.
House Republican Caucus Chairman Jeremy Faison, of Cosby, confirmed Sunday that Carter was in the intensive care unit at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga for COVID-19.
Carter tweeted Monday morning that he’s “feeling a little better" but does "expect ups and downs during recovery.”

Sincere thanks to the wonderful staff here at Erlanger and for all the prayers and well wishes.
Carter is chairman of the House Civil Justice Committee, but was absent during last week’s special legislative session. He is the second Tennessee lawmaker known to have tested positive for the virus. The first reported being asymptomatic.
