TENNESSEE RIDGE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The City of Tennessee Ridge is getting a federal loan to help repair three water tanks.

The Trump Administration announced Tuesday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is investing $416,900 to help provide safe drinking water to the town.

Tennessee Ridge, which is located in Houston and Stewart Counties, needs to repair three existing water tanks that are in poor condition.

According to a release from the USDA, the city proposes to rehabilitate the interior and exterior coatings of the tanks by blasting, cleaning, and painting each tank, along with repairing or replacing tank accessories such as safety climbs, floats and vents.

The project is part of the USDA Rural Development plan, which provides loans and grants to help "expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas."
