NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Patrick Miller and Jaleel Queary combined to score 46 points to lead Tennessee State to its first win of the season Sunday night, a 108-85 victory over its in-city, NAIA rival Fisk.
The Bulldogs held a five-point lead at halftime, and the game was tied, 70-70, with 13:18 left to play. However, the Tigers (1-10) went on 17-1 run over the next five minutes to take the game over, outscoring Fisk 56-28 in the second half.
Miller finished with 25 points, fueled by 8 of 17 shooting from the field and 8 of 10 from the free-throw line. Queary finished with 21 points. Jay Harris added 15 points off the bench, and M.J. Rhett added 14 points and 18 rebounds - 12 off the defensive glass.
Richmond Jackson scored 25 points while Darrell Miller added another 25 off the bench for Fisk, which was outrebounded 56-29.
