Thieves steal Christmas trees and holiday decorations from local shop

Several Christmas trees and holiday decorations were stolen from a local shop over the weekend.

Real pre-lit and flocked Christmas trees are a hit at "It's Always Something" in Old Hickory.

Teresa Green said, "This is my 40th year selling Christmas trees."

Green works hard to make the Christmas creations for her customers. This weekend, thieves stole more than 20 trees, took holiday decor, vandalized the exterior of the building, and even got away with the "open" and "closed" sign.

On Sunday, Santa came to spread some holiday cheer at the store. That's when Green called police about the theft. She's upset, but she said no one can steal her holiday cheer.

Green said, "Violated. We work really hard."

The crime will cost Green several thousand bucks.

Green said, "Heartless individuals."

Now, they're working around the clock to make up for the stolen orders.

Green said, "We still have bad eggs in the neighborhood."

The shop has a surveillance system, but the suspects smashed a couple of the cameras.

Green said, "The police have the video where they're able to pull in and zoom in closer and better than we are."

As police investigate, workers at "It's Always Something" are wondering how someone steals a bunch of 8 or 9 foot trees and gets away with it.

Green said, "I guess they're going to have a very wonderful Christmas, I don't know! Unless they're giving them away? They may sell them? I don't know."

Some of the trees that were stolen cost about $300 a pop.

The owner said there were 4 suspects, and all of them were wearing dark sweat shirts, or clothing to hide their faces. If you have any information, you can contact the Metro Nashville Police Department or call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
