SMYRNA, Tenn. (WTVF) — When nine-year-old Eden Hummel caught the coronavirus last year, she decided to write about her experience. Now she's hoping her book can help other kids.

The book is titled "The Kid Who Had COVID," and it's written and illustrated by Hummel, a third-grader at Rock Springs Elementary School in Rutherford County. The book documents Hummel's experience with coronavirus, from when she first started feeling symptoms to her eventual recovery.

"I felt a little bit lonely knowing that I had it, and nobody could tell me what it was like because I don't know anyone who had it," she explained. "I thought it would be good to let people know about it."

The book is now for sale on Amazon, something that Hummel said is still hard to believe.

"It makes me feel proud of myself," she said with a smile.
