SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Now in its 77th year, the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration has brought thousands of guests and millions of dollars to the town of Shelbyville.

It has been an event known across the country, not only for its impressive show horses, but also for the controversy surrounding soring, an illegal method to make the animal's gait higher.

But despite that controversy, new regulations, and heavy traffic, the event has still been thriving.

This year's event was set to wrap up Saturday. NewsChannel 5 photojournalist Jordan Powell showed us more.
