NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — More than 3,000 toys were handed out to children without a home at the annual Bridge to Christmas event in Nashville.

Bridge Ministry distributed toys and other gifts to homeless kids and their families.

Nashville has about 11,000 people who are homeless, according to an organization spokesperson.

"I would love to be out of a job so that there would be no more hunger, and there would be no more lack, but I'm so glad and so thankful for the opporutnity to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to help others," said Candy Christmas of Bridge Ministry.

Volunteers from Bridge Ministry are out every Tuesday helping the homeless under the Jefferson Street Bridge.
