A crash in Murfreesboro involved a trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened around 3 p.m. Sunday at Mercury Boulevard and South Rutherford Boulevard.
Details on the cause of crash had not yet been released, but authorities had confirmed the trooper was headed to the scene of another crash when a car wrecked into his SUV. Reports stated five vehicles were involved.
Officials said the trooper and two other people were taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
THP Sergeant Travis Plotzer said the public needs to be mindful of emergency vehicles.
“What we want them to do is obey the law," Sgt. Plotzer said. "We want to be mindful of emergency vehicles and to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle whenever they are approached by one. That’s why it’s important when people are out here driving. We don’t want them driving distracted."
Part of the intersection was closed as authorities with the Murfreesboro Police Department directed traffic.
