BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WTVF) — Bowling Green Police officers arrested three people for allegedly buying and selling an infant.
Police officials say they got a tip from Parker Bennett Curry Elementary School about a woman giving a child away.
Officers identified the mother as Maria Domingo Perez.
When they spoke to her, she gave conflicting statements but eventually admitted to giving the child to Pascual Jose Manuel and Catarina Felipe Jose.
Manuel and Jose told officers they paid the mother, who has four other children, $2,000 for the child.
All three of them were arrested and charged with selling/purchasing a child for adoption, which is a class D Felony. Social Services took the infant into custody along with Perez's other children.
