MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — Three people, including a student, were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Rutherford County. Authorities say their injuries were “non-life-threatening.”
The crash happened Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 41/70 (John Bragg Highway). According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, four students were on the bus when the crash occurred near Pilot Knob Road.
Officials said paramedics transported one 16-year-old student for minor injuries and the driver of the car and passenger to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
“The bus driver is Ok and the driver of the pickup truck was shaken up,” said Sheriff’s Sgt. Derek Oeser.
In their initial release, the sheriff's office said only two people were hurt. They've since clarified, saying three people were taken to the hospital.
