CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Three people were shot Tuesday morning on Peachers Mill Road in Clarksville.
Police said around 9 a.m., a man in his 20s drove to a home on Peachers Mill Road and spoke with a man and woman in their 30s who were standing in the driveway. At some point, guns were fired and the man drove off.
His car was later found in the front yard of a home on Leigh Court. He was found in the backyard and taken into custody. Police said he did not live at the home.
Peachers Mill Road was closed off for about six hours as officers were on scene investigating. Several evidence markers could be seen in the driveway and vehicles in the area were hit by the gunfire.
Kenwood High School, Middle School and Elementary School briefly went on a lockout in response to the investigation at 9:45 a.m. It was canceled 30 minutes later. When schools are placed on a lockout, no outside entry is allowed at that time.
Police said all three people were taken to the hospital for treatment. The man and woman in their 30s have since been released. The man in his 20s was still in the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, where he was treated for a gunshot wound that was not life threatening.
