FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Police have credited the public’s help in catching an alleged shoplifter in Franklin, who they say stole hundreds of dollars’ worth of toys.
In late July, more than $300 worth of toys was stolen from a Franklin retailer. The suspect was seen leaving the building on the store’s surveillance cameras.
A reward of up to $1,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest.
Officials with Franklin Police said a tip recently led to the identification of 25-year-old Reed Alan Ammons, of Nashville, as the alleged shoplifter.
He was arrested and charged with theft last week.
Ammons was later released on a $5,000 bond and has a court appearance scheduled for August 20.
