NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard is sticking around for foreseeable future.
The Titans announced Wednesday night they were making Byard the highest paid safety in NFL history.
The 5-year deal worth $70.5 million can be seen as a reward for the All-Pro safety from Middle Tennessee State.
Byard has 12 interceptions in his three seasons with the Titans after he was drafted in 2016 by Tennessee.
Byard's contract was initially scheduled to expire after this season prior to Thursday's extention.
The Titans also signed safety Kenny Vaccaro to a multi-year deal earlier this off-season.
