NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans have released running back Shonn Greene before the start of a three-day mandatory minicamp.
The Titans announced the move Tuesday.
Greene had not taken part in the team's offseason program and had one year left on the contract he signed in 2013. Greene ran for more than 1,000 yards in both 2011 and 2012 with the New York Jets. But injuries limited him to 11 games with Tennessee in 2011, and he ran for only 392 yards with two touchdowns in 13 games last season under coach Ken Whisenhunt.
The six-year veteran has run for 4,110 yards in his career with 24 touchdowns.
The Titans drafted Bishop Sankey in the second round last year and selected David Cobb of Minnesota in the fifth round in May.
