It's a big year for politics all across America, but Tennessee has also geared up for some important elections.
114 Democratic candidates are running for office in Tennessee this year. Although Republicans currently hold the super majority in the state, Tennessee Democrats believe that the state is ready for a change.
“The people of Tennessee are tired of Republican leadership. It's only taken them 5 years and they've already shown them, they've already shown to be a party that has no interest in governing effectively, has no interest in creating opportunity for all; they have no interest in creating strong families and communities,” said Mary Mancini,” Democratic Party Chair.
Tennesseans will choose their state leaders with a vote later this year.
