TN House Passes National Guard Safety Bill

Posted

The state House unanimously passed legislation aimed at keeping Tennessee National Guard members safe.

The bill would allow homeland security upgrades that the Guard will implement at armories and recruiting stations around the state.

The enhancements at armories and recruiting stations would include mobile ballistic shields, shatter resistant film for windows and doors, barriers in front of the buildings, as well as cameras.

It all stemmed from the terror shootings in Chattanooga last July that started at a National Guard Recruitment center and ended at a Naval training Academy.
