CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A crash involving multiple semi-trailer trucks occurred on I-40 Eastbound near mile marker 186 early Saturday morning.
According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), around 2 a.m., a semi-trailer truck towing three other semi trucks - which were not being operated - ran off the road and into the median.
Afterwards, another truck hauling 40,000 pounds of broccoli crashed while trying to avoid the initial wreck.
No fatalities have been reported.
While responders work to clear the site, the left lane of I-40 near the crash site is blocked. According to TDOT's Smartway map at the time of writing, it is expected to be cleared by 12:30 p.m.
