Traffic Stop Turns Up $40,000, Marijuana

New details have been released on a traffic stop involving a driver who was pulled over for a broken brake light. Drugs and thousands of dollars in cash were found in the trunk. 

Police said they found marijuana and more than $40,000 in cash during the traffic stop that happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

An officer noticed a car with the broken brake light and pulled the driver over. According to arrest reports, the driver, identified as Wanyaa Lewis, admitted he was driving on a suspended license.

Authorities said he gave them permission to search his car, and that's when they found a black bag in the trunk stuffed with cash. 

Then police found 14.5 grams of marijuana hidden inside the clothing of the passenger, identified as Cayla Graham.

They admitted to hiding it when they saw the officer's flashing lights. 

Police said they think the couple was going to sell the drugs. They were both arrested on felony charges.
