Train fuel spill leaks 1,500 gallons at Nashville railyard

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A train's fuel tank ruptured and spilled around 1,500 gallons at a railyard Sunday afternoon.

CSX Transportation officials say the tank ruptured around 1:30 p.m. at its Radnor Yard Terminal Operations location.

Around 1,500 gallons of diesel fuel leaked.

Nasville Fire and other units responded to the scene and contained the spill.

In a statement, CSX said there was no impact to the environment. Cleanup and restoration efforts are in progress.
