HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A truck carrying offal (chicken guts) has spilled onto US 68 Bypass in Christian County, and reduced the eastbound traffic to one lane.
It happened around 7:30p.m. Thursday at the KY 272 intersection of US 68 Bypass/Eagle Way in Hopkinsville.
The offal (chicken guts) spilled across the eastbound lanes. Crews have pushed traffic over to the edge of the roadway to get around the area.
The mess was described as foul-smelling, sticky, and messy. The cleanup effort was handled by the Christian County Emergency Management.
Officials planned to send KYTC crews to spread sand or take other action to assure the driving surface is safe for travel, once the cleanup was completed.
Officials estimated the cleanup to take about four hours.
