CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A truck driver accused of kidnapping a woman on Interstate 24 in Clarksville has been given an additional charge of attempted rape.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation officials say Roy Michel Nellsch, 62, picked up a woman who was looking for help when her vehicle ran out of gas.

Nellsch allegedly handcuffed her inside the truck and told her he was going to kidnap and rape her. She was able to escape and report the incident to police.

For that incident in May, he was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping. An additional charge of attempted rape was recently added in the case.
