MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A truck slammed into a house in Rutherford County, causing significant damage both inside and outside.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. Monday at 1306 Southeast Broad Street in Murfreesboro.
A Chevrolet Z71 pickup truck had gone through the yard and a small iron fence before hitting the side of the home. The force of the impact took out of bay window, knocked a hole through the wall, and taken out several bricks.
Pictures from inside the house showed debris scattered all over what appeared to be a kitchen or dining room.
The front end of the pickup also sustained significant damage.
Emergency rescue crews had to remove several trees to gain access to the truck and driver.
The driver was transported by ground to Saint Thomas Rutherford hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Water, gas and electricity were shut off to the house. Utility crews were on the scene to determine the integrity of the various systems and the stability of the structure.
Information about the circumstances leading up to the crash were not available. Investigators from the Murfreesboro Police Department were investigating.
It was not known if anyone was home at the time of the incident.
