NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have confirmed that a loaded firearms was discovered at the Nashville International Airport on Tuesday.
Around 9:30 a.m. a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun was detected in a passenger's carry-on bag.
Airport police were immediately alerted. The bag was taken into their custody and they escorted the passenger out of the checkpoint area.
While firearms may be carried in checked luggage, they must be declared to the airline in a proper carrying case and unloaded. Firearms are not, however, permitted in any carry-on baggage.
