TSA Pre-Check sends airline passengers through security quicker than fighting the normal airport security lines.
Security lines are seen as one of the most inconvenient things about the travel experience, but it’s a necessary inconvenience to keep travelers safe.
One way to make the security lines a little more bearable for travelers is to join the TSA Pre-Check program.
TSA Pre-Check puts travelers through a thorough background check, takes fingerprint scans from applicants, and costs $85, but in return traveling can become much less of a pain.
“As long as you know what you need, you have your license, you have your stuff and what you have to take it, it saves tremendous amounts of time.” Deb Meyer, a frequent traveler and participant in TSA Pre-Check said.
In addition to getting into a TSA Pre-Check specific line which is usually faster, Pre-Check participants do not need to remove laptops and liquids from their bags, and they don’t have to remove their shoes while going through security.
“You’re kind of with the pros, the folks who know what to take out, what to undo, and it just moves a little smoother.” Andre Becker, a TSA Pre-Check participant said. “I can’t imagine being a business traveler without having Pre-Check.”
According to the TSA, they’re seeing a record number of people sign up for the Pre-Check program. In one day last week alone, they had more than 6,000 enroll for the program.
“At very large airports where you have thousands upon thousands of people coming through the security checkpoints everyday, having that dedicated TSA Pre-Check option saves them a lot of time.” Sari Koshetz, spokesperson for TSA, said.
Nashville International Airport has their own Pre-Check Enrollment Center where people can schedule an appointment to be approved.
While the TSA program allows the Pre-Check line to move quickly, the other lines are starting to move more slowly while they wait for those with priority to go through security first.
The solution that is suggested to travelers is to join the program. It gets you through lines faster and helps ensure you’re safe to fly.
