TSU AD's Son Arrested On Attempted Aggravated Burglary Charge

NASHVILE, Tenn. – The son of the athletic director at Tennessee State University has been arrested on an attempted burglary charge.

A police report stated that 18-year-old Micah Phillips, son of TSU athletic director Teresa Lawrence-Phillips, was taken into custody on January 16. He was charged with attempted aggravated burglary and evading arrest.

No details of the alleged crimes have been released.

Teresa Lawrence-Phillips issued this statement Thursday evening:

"My family is devastated over the alleged incident involving my son, and asks for your prayers as we go through this trying time. As a parent, I ask that you respect our privacy."
