Tennessee State University officials broke ground on a new, $40 million Health Science Building.
They also broke ground on an Alumni Welcome Center and two new residence halls.
University president Glenda Glover was thankful to see so many people supporting the school on the big day.
"It's very special to us; to see the support and the various levels of support, because this is truly a great day as we expand the footprint of TSU," she said.
This week's groundbreakings are part of Tennessee State's homecoming celebration.
