NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two crashes - one involving an officer - caused the closure of Interstate 40 near Fesslers Lane in Nashville early Saturday morning.
Officers first responded to a rollover on I-40 West near mile marker 212. Metro police say the driver in that crash is in critical condition, but stable, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
While officers were maintaining the lane closure caused by the first crash, another vehicle struck a police car on the right side of the interstate, coming to rest against the center median wall. This crash called for the interstate closure.
The interstate and scene of the crashes is now clear.
