NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two people died at the scene after a collision Tuesday afternoon in South Nashville.

Metro Police say the crash happened in the 400 block of Paragon Mills Road near Aster Drive.

Both people who died were inside of a Chevrolet Cruze that hit a GMC work van. The Cruze then left the road and hit a tree.

The 45-year-old passenger of the Cruze was not wearing a seatbelt, but the driver was. Efforts are being made to contact the passenger's next of kin.

The 46-year-old driver of the GMC van was not injured but was cited for driving without a license.

The names of the two people who died in the Cruze haven't been released.
