NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An anonymous tip about two men loading a body into the trunk of a car led to the arrest of Randall Gilmer, 40, and Demario Maxwell, 30, on meth and heroin charges Friday night.

Metro Police says the call came in for a motel on Sidco Drive. Officers responded and saw the car pulling out of the parking lot.

An officer followed the car until it hit another vehicle on I-440 East and kept driving.

The officer then pulled the two men over. Police say they didn't find a body. Instead they found two socks filled with drugs inside the car. One contained 51 grams of meth. The other contained 4 grams of heroin. Police say they also found a digital scale.

Gilmer and Maxwell were both charged with felony drug counts. Gilmer was also charged with the hit and run.
