Two people were arrested and charged with the assault of a 2-month-old child in Christian County, Kentucky.
According to Kentucky State Police officials, 24-year-old Cody Hansley and 23-year-old Cassandra Hansley were arrested.
The child in their care suffered severe injuries consistent with abuse. The child was transported by Ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY.
But the baby was later flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Children's Hospital due to the severity of the child’s injuries.
KSP Detectives met with the Vanderbilt CARE Committee in reference to the investigation. As a result, they charged Cassandra with one count of assault 1st degree and Cody with one count of complicity to assault 1st degree.
Both were processed and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. The child is now in stable condition.
