Crews have recovered the body of a missing kayaker along the Elk River in Giles County.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency confirmed Monday that 31-year-old Anthony Cooper was last seen putting a kayak in the Elk River Sunday morning.
Others later noticed that the kayak was found floating upside down with no sign of Cooper.
The TWRA said Cooper’s parents identified the vehicle and the kayak as belonging to him. The kayak was recovered and a lifejacket was found behind the seat.
His body was recovered Wednesday evening.
