COOKVILLE, Tenn. – A Van Buren County man has been indicted on child neglect in the death of his infant daughter.
Authorities began investigating the infant’s death on January 25. The 7-month-old was found unresponsive at an apartment on Drake Street in Spencer.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigating said Brooklyn Green was found not breathing while sleeping in the bed with her father, 20-year-old James M. Green.
An autopsy revealed the infant died as a result of asphyxiation.
Green was indicted Monday by a Van Buren County Grand Jury on one count of aggravated child neglect.
He was taken into custody Tuesday without incident. Green was transported to the Van Buren County Jail and held on a $50,000 bond.
